Apple updates iMacs, Mac Pros, and Cinema Display

Just as predicted, Apple quietly made some updates to their product line this morning. The updated iMacs lose the Core 2 Duo processors and replaces them with Intel's Core processors, ranging from an i3 to a Quad-Core i7 in the high-end 27" model. They also added discrete ATI graphics from top to bottom, plus the option for a 256GB SSD drive (which will set you back a cool $600). The new iMacs start on the low end at $1,199.

For the Mac Pro, you'll now be able to have up to a 12 cores of processing power, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 8TB of storage. The base model starts at $2,499, but of course you can max the specs out on one for the price of a small Volkswagen.

Finally, Apple has updated it's Cinema Display to a  16:9 27" display, while putting the older 30" model out to pasture. The updated display retails for $999, which also includes a built-in iSight camera, 40 watt speakers, plus a MagSafe adapter to charge your Mac notebook, and three USB ports.

The iMacs are ready to ship today, while the Mac Pro will be available in August and the Cinema Display available in September.
