Wireless charging, a technology that promises to exponentially cut down our dependence on cords, is one step closer to becoming a reality. A universal standard, named "Qi," will be published on August 30. The standard will allow up to 5 watts of charging power, which will be more than enough to charge your phone and various other gadgets and gizmos. The charging devices will have to be certified by a third-party, and after passing inspection they'll carry the "Qi" logo, so the devices and compatible devices should be easily identifiable. If you listen closely, you can hear the rejoicing of clumsy tripping people everywhere.
