Update: Spotify not starting over in the US

Quickly responding to earlier reports that Spotify is restarting negations with US music labels, Spotify has told Telegraph that the earlier reports were "without any substance" and that they "have moved forward significantly and we're still on course for launch by the end of the year. Good news.

Spotify starting over in the US?

Electronista reports that Spotify, the ad-supported free music service, may be starting over in it's talks with US music labels. Spotify and the labels have been in talks for a while now, and it's reported that the labels aren't keen to the idea of ad-supported music, although Spotify has agreements with all four major labels in Europe already. It's rumored that Spotify and the labels will forget talks so far and start from scratch again but a 2010 launch is still hoped for.
